Wendy Yang

Meet Wendy

Wendy Yang didn't set out to be a photographer. In fact, her parents sent their baby girl to UNC-Chapel Hill in the hopes she would come back home as Dr. Wendy Yang.

Unfortunately for Mom and Dad, Wendy took an introductory course in photography as an elective - and she and the camera just ... well, clicked.

Fortunately for Mom and Dad, they still have much to be proud of. Wendy has distinguished herself as a photojournalist by having her work appear in major publications such as National Geographic World Magazine, Sports Illustrated and USA Today. Wendy has worked as a staff photographer at the Kansas City Star and the Charlotte Observer, and is currently a photo editor at the Observer.

But that's just what she does for a living. Her passion is capturing intimate moments for families ... moments that will evoke precious memories and stir emotions for generations. By avoiding studios with big lights and lots of equipment her sessions are never overwhelming. Wendy's fun, casual approach to photography, her skilled use of ambient light, and an instinct for capturing those special moments will make your images come alive.

Wendy lives in Charlotte, N.C., with her husband Doc (also a photographer) and their cats Foster and Bailey, and their dog Augie.
